droid recordings presents a new 2-tracker from the talented argentian producer flug. cognitive process burrows through the listeners subconscious, starting on the a side with experience, a polyrhythmic vortex driven by a buzzing, 2-pitch motif. senses builds hypnotically around a single, repeating tone into a slamming, aggressive power. both tracks keep things driving and fast-paced toward the 130 bpm range.

with the bizarre feeling ep laying the sound for the subsequent fist year of the label, it is right jamie returns with ep#2 to move things forward with another twisted take on his unique mutoid-protoid-machine-funk-groove. starting with mad obsession you would be forgiven for thinking you ll have bizarre feeling part 2, with warped vocals - taken from late night, half asleep scribbled notes - and space echo haze, but let the percussion work-out trip you up and the stars in and before you know it things start going leftfild and then deeper with the free party sound system bass line shuffl of time nearly time. what he is on (about), no one knows. it is on the flp however that things take a darker turn. beyond the confession booth, down sharp stairs and dripping ceiling to a red light lit room of latter day late night blues.

jonas kopp pumps the drums hard on opener shibu. it is pure peak-time material, fit with siren like synths, heavy kicks and hi-hats to get the shoulders moving. kopps tracks are always masterfully tailored for the dancefloor, and this is no exception the six-and-a-half-minute ride is richly detailed with ups, downs and subtle changes. dadub take the record deeper with force continuum abuse.

she lies are a disco post-punk band from berlin. they used to live together in an appartment sharing their musical ideas and inspiration before starting to record their no wave inspired songs.

newcastle upon tyne (uk) based turquoise blue presents a very special release featuring four original tracks from non-other than kostas tassopoulos – better known to many as ekkohaus. for those unfamiliar with turquoise blue, the label has been causing quite a stir ever since its first release in 2011, featuring music from household names including laura jones, kris wadsworth, dj w!ld and djebali, among many others. it was clear from early releases on heavyweight labels including morris audio, 2020 vision and liebe detail that this was a man with a big future but, to many, it was ekkohaus album release in may 2013 that defined him as a major player in the game. released by matthias tanzmann’s moon harbour recordings, the album topped many a download chart and was a firm favourite with djs around the globe. this is a landmark release for turquoise blue, which started life as a digital only label but after starting to press vinyl in september 2012, the label has gone full circle with this, their debut vinyl-only release. not only does this release sound incredible but it looks sublime and is as much a collector’s item as it is a dj tool. a limited run of 300 will be pressed on heavyweight, clear marbled vinyl.

for our 3rd vinyl release the keyword to demonstrate is freedom. a word that today is always more and more eclipsed. starting with an original mix from our young french talent deam, with his solid and hypnotic basslines, -empie- is a well executed raw techno track. the release is completed by remixes from dubit, eomac and myler. the first remix from dubit, brings a unique groove absorbed in a network of industrial sonorities, aggressive and fraught, ready to kill any dance floor. on the b1 side, we have a killer remix from eomac with his poetic fast broken-beat grooves and frozen atmospheres. this is a mix between d&b, jungle and idm which makes it a perfect execution. myler demonstrates his full personality with his own interpretation bringing out a dark and mystical feeling through a static and engaging evolution

last night ep, the second release by in records, where emiliano ferreyra brings a real beauty that makes you feel this argentinian taste of music. starting with the track *last night* that gives the title to the release, with sketchy and rhythmic percs that makes a good way to open the release. then you find *our walk*, in collaboration with the amazing duo proudly people, special for the first tracks of the night or maybe to enjoy the sunshine of an after party. there comes *oldie*, with his heavy riddim and joined by max j and coockies remix of it making a real deep atmospheric environment.

population one returns on metroplex. first appearing on juan atkins legendary imprint, way back in 96, and continuing to drop a stream of top notch releases for them ever since - it seems these tracks were made especially with the label in mind. less reduced than his work on his own label, terrence dixon delivers 4 amazing tracks on this firing ep.

guy gerbers rumors label is really starting to pick up pace now. after a first ep from the boss in collaboration with dixon, and a second from chaim, the third release comes from lake people, who has already remixed for the label.

considering the combined talents of detroit veteran terrence dixon and black jazz consortium man fred p, you d expect this split ep for finale sessions to be a lesson in warm, soul-flecked depth. pleasingly, that s exactly what it delivers. dixon excels with the sub-sporting alien futurism of -to the bridge- - the aural equivalent of staring into space while dancing to electronic jazz - and the sumptuous, minor key bliss of the casual deep house jam -starting over-. fred p, meanwhile, delivers two contrasting cuts. there s some acid-fuelled deep house futurism in the shape of -circuit-, and a chunk of bongo-laden dancefloor humidity in -the road-, whose rising strings and sweet melodies are arguably the highlight of a superb ep.

i d been thinking about starting a label for a few years but it never really seemed like it could work. nowadays there is more coherence in my productions it seems like the right time. i will be releasing music from other artists as well my own stuff - underground house, techno and the rest, stuff with darkness and sexiness. hopefully it is music that will speak to (somebodys) heart as well as their feet. the first release is called no splice no playback and it is two tracks of house music. vinny (flamingo) is a basement thing, suckle (twenties) works in warehouses too. thanks for reading. -mosca
